Sorry, not sorry! BAIBA plays self-produced electro-pop and courageously conquers the stage alone. In her lyrics she doesn't shy away from the emotional depth and honesty, in her arrangements she is not afraid to seek for more.
In the past years BAIBA has moved further and further away from the melancholic singer songwriter's corner and has dived into the curiosity of electronic pop music. She combines mysterious, dark lyrics with danceable beats and experiments with ambient sounds and deep basses. Her live performances are charming, atmospheric and intense, the same as her persona.
For the past several years she has been working on her second album ''Lighter'', which was released on May 14, 2021. Big parts of the album are self produced and recorded at home.
Her singles ‘Running’, ‘Light Inside’, ‘Touch You Right’ and ‘You Don’t Know Me’ which she released under her full name (Baiba Dekena), had radio airplay all around Europe and were also featured in numerous Canadian and American music blogs. Singles ‘You Don’t Know Me’ and ‚Light Inside’ were in daily rotation by several biggest radio stations.
In may 2023 she released her latest EP ‘Compulsive’ - an energetic and satirical outburst of her biggest obsessions, fears and paranoia. The self-healing and powerful artistry she inhabits on her new EP has also manifested itself in her live performances - the once shy singer-songwriter now creates a dynamic that takes you on an ecstatic journey.
The first single from the EP 'Perfect' was on daily rotation and charts of one of Austria's biggest radio stations - FM4. All songs from the EP were also played on various Latvian and international radios.
In recent years, BAIBA has performed regularly on stages all over Austria and Europe. Her most favorite gigs include Poolbar Festival, Waves Festival, Summer Sound Festival (LV), LABA DABA Festival (LV), Pink Whale (Bratislava), Pergine Festival (IT), ALLES GUTE Festival, Kultursommer Wien, Treibhaus, Innsbruck and many more.
